Production+ works by leveraging extensive experience and continuous training to enhance your production performance. All of our production support team are highly skilled in utilizing the latest forming technology.

This cross-functional approach provides proactive support, from equipment commissioning to defect reduction, and regular workshops ensure the implementation of the most effective approaches.

With increased Pack To Melt (PTM), reduced job change times, and increased machine speed, we help our glassmaking peers to achieve sustainable performance improvements.

Project Support

Our project support within Production+ includes:

  • Commissioning of forming machines: ensuring the smooth and successful start-up of your new glass forming machines.
  • Commissioning of automation technology: ensuring stronger production controls and faster start-up times after job changes.
  • Commissioning of new forming technology: for seamless start-up processes, plus support for the implementation of forming technologies.
  • Performance tests: evaluating the effectiveness of newly installed Bucher Emhart Glass forming equipment by measuring relevant KPIs within an agreed timeframe

Performance Support

Bucher Emhart Glass is proud to offer a range of performance support options:

  • Ad-hoc: our engineers are deployed for special and immediate customer needs, to address performance issues at the customer site, such as breakage of mold equipment, thermoshock issues or ware handling improvement.
  • Medium-term: repeated customer visits scheduled within 3-12 months to improve a specific issue, which requires assessing the problem, coordinating the remedies, and final execution. This could include things like PPC, PUC and closed loop utilization, optimization of NIS settings or SMARTFeeder adjustments.
  • Long-term: partnering with selected customers to increase the output of forming machines over 12-18 months. This entails a significant amount of onsite presence to provide improvements in machine speed and yield. The financial benefits to the customer can often be around 7-digits.

Mold Design

With the growing trend in the glass industry to prioritize sustainability by producing lightweight containers, many customers reach out to us for assistance with mold design. We help, not only with glass thickness, but also with production process parameters concerning the glass and gob, as well as the blank side and blow side.

EGRC Glass Trials

Within Production+, EGRC glass trials can play a viable role in a container glass business. EGRC trials are critical change management tools that support the transition towards proven state-of-the-art glass forming and inspection technologies. They allow you to test your container, with your own production personnel before committing to new technology.
