Change in the management of Emhart Glass

Cham, Switzerland — Jeffrey D. Hartung has been promoted to Vice President Inspection. He succeeds Joseph Laundry who will retire in 2010 after 17 years service. Jeffrey D. Hartung, who has a BS in Chemistry from University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Syracuse University, joined Emhart Glass in 2004 after having worked previously for F.M. Howell Packaging, Elmira, NY and TRW, Loveland, Colorado.

A new era is in the pipeline for Emhart Glass in Malaysia

Sundsvall, Sweden - On November 15; 2007, Martin Jetter, President of Emhart Glass signed a contract with Panoramic Industrial Development Sdn. Bhd to design and erect a new factory building for the operations in Malaysia, inclusive of the purchase of the land.

The new factory will be located in the same area as the present one, in Taman Preindustrian Cemerlang, Johor Bahru. The building will cover approximately 6000 m2. Under the same contract additional land was acquired for a possible later expansion.

New Technical Service Center Opens in Madrid, Spain

Clearwater, FL, USA — Emhart Glass has opened a new cold end Technical Service Center in Madrid, Spain. Located at Avda de Manoteres 22, nave 118, the Madrid TSC, will serve as the central training, service, and Emhart Inex equipment demonstration facility for the Central and Eastern European, as well as Middle Eastern and African markets.

Opening of the New Training Center in Sundsvall, Sweden

Cham, Switzerland — On December 13, 2007 the Emhart Glass’ new Hot End Training Center in Sundsvall, Sweden will be officially opened during a small inauguration ceremony. With more than 230 sqm the size has been doubled and provides spacious classrooms on the 5th floor of the main office building of Emhart Glass in Sundsvall. The entire previous training facility has been transformed into an area for hands-on training on all the products lately developed by Emhart Glass.

Emhart Glass relocates UK office to Manchester

Cham, Switzerland — Emhart Glass has relocated its UK office to Manchester. The company’s Doncaster office was closed in December 2007. The Manchester office, situated in Trafford Park, is located centrally in relation to the Emhart Glass UK customer base.

Emhart Glass MLP Plus offers pressure testing and capacity gauging

Clearwater, FL, USA — The Emhart Glass MLP and MLP Plus provide a better alternative to conventional go/no-go sampling pressure testing systems for glass containers. Besides performing a destructive pressure test (MLP), the system can be equipped with a fill-point capacity measurement gauge (making it an MLP Plus), which is not available on any other sampling pressure testing system. The fill-point capacity measurement gauge also is available as an upgrade to existing MLP systems.

FlexIS Control System supersedes the T600 family of IS Machine controls

Cham, Switzerland — Emhart Glass is pleased to announce the introduction of “FlexIS”, a new generation of Forming Control Systems, which represents a major advance towards the requirements of an integrated glass container production line. FlexIS is the new platform which provides basic forming, servo applications, data management and line information in an integrated way, which will be the standard supply for all future IS Machine applications and proposals.

To date, more than 50 FlexIS systems are already successfully installed and running under glass.

Emhart Glass completes acquisition of ICS Inex Inspection Systems

Cham, Switzerland — Emhart Glass, a division of Bucher Industries and the world’s leading supplier of machinery for the glass container industry, has completed the purchase of ICS Inex Inspection Systems of Clearwater, FL, USA. The acquisition of ICS Inex, a privately-held company, took place 20 March, 2007.

Emhart Glass to Build Glass Research Center in Windsor (CT), USA

Cham, Switzerland — Emhart Glass, the world’s leading supplier of machinery for glass container manufacturing, is investing EUR 15 million in a new research facility in the USA. In so doing, Emhart Glass is seeking to develop and bring to market enhanced methods for improving the glass forming process. A case in point is the project for tempered, and thus lighter weight and more durable, glass containers.
